Is your deodorant toxic?

Top 5 ingredients hiding in your deodorant:

1. Aluminum- linked to breast cancer, prostate cancer and an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.

2. Parabens- disrupts our delicate hormonal balance, which can lead to things like early puberty in children and an increased risk of hormonal cancers. Linked to birth defects and organ toxicity.

3. Propylene Glycol- can cause damage to the central nervous system, liver, and heart.

4. Phthalates- linked to a higher risk of birth defects. May disrupt hormone receptors, increase the likelihood of cell mutation.

5. Triclosan- classified as a pesticide by the FDA. Classified as a possible carcinogen by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)

With cancer on the rise and the underarms being a very prone area to rub chemicals on, it is so important and worth it to consider switching to all natural deodorant. The other problematic concern is that all deodorant is heated up to a certain melting point and then poured into the plastic contains that hold the contents. The majority of deodorant containers are NOT BPA-Free and thus also add to harmful chemical leaching out into your deodorant from being heated up. It's a double whammy!

Our deodorant is a nice blend of ingredients:

Beeswax: This may help, a little, with the perspiration problem, but the main point of this ingredient is to give the deodorant a more solid feel, so it’ll stay in your container the way you want it to.

Arrowroot Powder or Clay: Adds extra dryness protection. It will help at whisking away sweat and drying it up before it reaches your clothes. However, don’t expect it to work quite as well as antiperspirant (which contains the aluminum you REALLY want to avoid). They work in two very different ways.

Coconut Oil: Softens, but especially adds extra antibacterial protection. Bacteria is what leads to stinkiness. Coconut oil is your best weapon.

Cocoa Butter: Cocoa Butter has been called the ultimate moisturizer, and has been used to keep skin soft and supple for centuries. It is one of the most stable, highly concentrated natural fats known, and melts at body temperature so that it is readily absorbed into the skin. Cocoa Butter is often recommended for treatment of skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. When applied topically, it creates a barrier between sensitive skin and the environment and also helps retain moisture. Cocoa Butter contains Vitamin E, which is a strong antioxidant - the strongest of all the antioxidant vitamins in fact, and can easily kill off hydrogen peroxide and any other oxidizing agent.  It also contains phytochemicals (plant chemicals) such as flavanoids that are also strong antioxidants.

Diatomaceous Earth which is almost identical to our natural PH in our body

Bentonite Clay which helps detox and draw toxins from the body

Handmade in the U.S.A. in small batches for quality & freshness. Our strong formula is designed for men, women, and even teens. Our deodorant is Aluminum Free, Paraben Free, Chemical Free, Contains NO Synthetic Fragrances, and it's never tested on animals!

Some people can have a sensitivity to baking soda so we created a Sensitive Skin version taking out the baking soda and replacing it with Diatomaceous Earth. Diatomaceous earth is almost perfectly pH neutral, meaning it won't irritate skin that is sensitive to acidic or alkaline levels. We also add Kaolin Clay. Kaolin clay works by reducing the production of sebum. This makes oily skin remains smooth and dry. Since our top priority is your health, we not only provide an outstanding natural product with ingredients you know and can pronounce, we also use BPA-Free containers. The reason this is important is because most plastics contain harmful chemicals that can seep into the ingredients of the product it's holding.

We want to provide you with the safest products possible. Here are some scary things you should totally avoid in store bought deodorant: Aluminum compounds within deodorants act as a plug within the sweat ducts and temporarily stop the flow of sweat. However, these compounds can be absorbed by your skin. These compounds can mimic estrogen, which promote growth of breast cancer cells and Alzheimer's. Parabens have been linked to breast cancer. They are said to disturb the body’s hormonal balance and to mimic estrogen, as estrogen is said to play a part in breast cancer formation.
